Castello Banfi Brunello

Arguably the most popular Italian wine of the last decade, this Castello Banfi Brunello is sure to win many hearts and  minds. It’s made of 100% Sangiovese Grosso grape, and gives off a stunning red hue. With a very open nose that gives flavors of oak and red fruits, this is the perfect wine to be paired with something like a steak, or red meat. It will also go very well with stronger cheeses after a particularly heavy meal. This wine isn’t even that expensive for the great heritage that this varietal brings to the table. Often you’ll find wines like this lack real bang on the back end, but this wine manages to really bring that to the table, which is probably why critics were so complimentary of it. They were also probably impressed with the maturity that the wine showed, especially considering it has plenty left in the tank for long storage. If you’re looking for a really great Italian wine that is not just a critical favorite, but is also a customer favorite, then you should definitely check this out.
